Ancient heritage in Macedonia (8 days/7 nights)

 

PROGRAM:

DAY 1: Skopje

Arrival in Skopje airport. The group will be meet by representative of our agency. Accommodation in a 3*** hotel. Short break. In the afternoon follow sightseeing tour of Skopje. Will be visited Skopje fortress, church of St.Spas (entrance), old bazaar, Daut Pasin Hamam, stone bridge, Macedonia square, memorial house of Mother Teresa. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 2: Kokino, Skupi, Roman aqueduct

Breakfast. Visiting of the megalithic observatory of Kokino, which is one of the oldest in the world according to NASA ranking. On our way back from the observatory we will visit the church of St. George at village of Staro Nagoricane, famous for its fresco painting. Organized lunch with national menu. In the afternoon hours visit of ancient city of Skupi and the Roman aqueduct. The tour will continue to mountain Vodno, where we will visit the church of St. Pantelejmon from XII century.

DAY 3: Kratovo

Breakfast. We will visit the medieval city of Kratovo and archeological locality of Goce’s Stone. It is believed that it was used as a observatory. Organized lunch. Follows the visit of the locality Kuklici – where the nature has shaped from the rocks very interesting forms. For those forms people have made legends that you will hear from your tour guide. Returning back to Skopje. Free time for individual exploring of the city. At night organized dinner. Overnight.

DAY 4: Stobi, Ohrid

Breakfast. We will go to visit ancient city of Stobi. History of the city will turn us back in the VII century B.C. when Stobi was small Pajonians settlement. In the time of reign of Macedonian king Philip II the settlement becomes the city. Sightseeing of this antic settlement with professional tour guide. Driving to city of Ohrid. Arriving in Ohrid. Accommodation in a hotel. Organized lunch. Free time for individual activities. Overnight.

DAY 5: St. Naum

Breakfast. A boat tour to the monastery St. Naum. The boat tour will offer you an unforgettable view of the lake shore with its hotels, villages - Pestani, Trpejca, Ljubanista. Visit of the monastery and church of St. Naum - one of the most visited localities in Macedonia. Lunch at the authentic atmosphere near the Black Drim River. Free time. Returning back to Ohrid. Dinner. Overnight.

DAY 6: Bitola, Heraclea

Breakfast. After the breakfast, we will go for Bitola. Sightseeing of the city with professional tour guide. Than follows the visit of ancient city of Heraclea Lincestis – city build by Macedonian king Philip II. Organized lunch. Returning back to Ohrid. Overnight.

DAY 7: Ohrid

Breakfast. This day will be dedicated to Ohrid. Will be visited: National museum, church St. Sophia, antic theater, locality Plaosnik where can be seen residues from different periods of history. Follows the visit of the settlement Kaneo – from where we will have boat trip to the city harbor. Free time. At night organized dinner with music and national menu. Overnight.

DAY 8:

Breakfast. You will go for Skopje airport. End of the program.
